For the first time since the restart of the chapter, the active’s bank pointed out that the active chapter did not have an active Employee Identification Number (EIN) and refused to allow them to make changes on their checking account. All non-profit organizations are required to have an EIN. This is necessary to retain tax exempt status. The active chapter was never advised of this need either through previous active administrations, their Board of Advisors (BOA)-which has not met for two years- or national training. The reinstatement fee is $850.00
